Karnatak State Forest Industries Corporation Limited (KSFIC) is a Government of Karnataka undertaking established in March 1973. It is a B2B company for procurements and B2C company for sales/services. Initial assets like land and buildings, saw mills, human resources etc., were transferred from the Karnataka Forest Department. Principal objective of forming KSFIC was to package the commercial activities of the Karnataka Forest Department into corporate activity so that they can be carried out more efficiently with the aid of modern technology. Supporting and encouraging wood based industries, creating employment opportunities and employing the government assets more productively were the other important objectives.
