Airstrips
Airport landings in the state:
The first step is to take action on the Cabinet approval to develop the airstrips at 3 places Chikmagalur, Kodagu and Uttara Kannada. Civil Aviation Ministry approval Chikmagalur to land.
- Chikmagalur: A 100 acre of land is available and a Feasibility report has been prepared.
- Kodagu: About 49.25 acres of land has been identified in Kodalahalli Kushalagara.
- Uttara Kannada: About 350 acres of land has been identified in Kumta & requested to hand over forest land. But the Steering Committee has rejected the plan and hence development of helipad is reexamined.
